Primary Years Assessment:
Combination of formative and summative assessments through a combination of examples of students’ work (portfolio, research journals, reading and/or writing logs), test results, teacher observations, performance-based examples (presentations, reports, talks, projects, dramas), peer and self assessment
Grade 8: CIE Checkpoint Examination
At DYPIS, students take the CIE Checkpoint Examination for English, Math and Science at the end of Grade 8. In Grades 6, 7 and Grade 8, the students are prepared for the Examination based on the CIE syllabi.
For the other subjects (Hindi, French and Social Sciences), an in-house examination is conducted at the end of Grade 8 by the school
Grade 10: IGCSE Examinations
Students appear for the IGCSE Examinations at the end of Grade 10 which are graded by the Cambridge examining board.
Grade 12: IBDP
Students appear for the IBDP examination.

In May/June 2014 IGCSE exams, the school had 155 subject entries out of which5% of all grades achieved have been either A* or A (world average 28.78%). Also, 57% of students achieved ‘Distinction’ in the ICE Award (students need to secure atleast 5 Grade A*/A to get a Distinction)
The school's average score in IBDP examinations was 34 points (global average was 29.88 points)
